Hand Function: Care, Injury Prevention, and Exercise for Everyday Living
Presented by Joyce Fluegge, OT, Occupational Therapist, Cane and Able Stroke Recovery Group Coordinator, Corewell Health Beaumont Troy
Occupational therapist Joyce Flugge, OTR, shared practical techniques to help stroke survivors and others improve hand function and independence. She discussed joint protection, adaptive equipment, splinting, home exercises, and ergonomic strategies to reduce strain, increase comfort, and make everyday tasks easier. The presentation concluded with an informative question-and-answer session.

Split Group Sharing - Stroke Survivors & Caregivers
Following a brief group update, members divided into separate discussions for stroke survivors and caregivers. In a safe and supportive environment, participants shared personal challenges, celebrated successes, exchanged practical advice, and encouraged one another. The conversations reflected the caring community that makes the Cane and Able Stroke Recovery Group so special.
