The Cane and Able Stroke Recovery Group is one of the oldest and largest stroke clubs in the State of Michigan, and in the United States. We are also registered with the American Stroke Association.

Established January 14, 1982, the Cane and Able atroke Recovery Group is a nonprofit support organization that has always been a part of the Corewell Health System (formerly Beaumont Health). Our members include those who have had strokes and are in the process of recovery, as well as their family and friends. For over 42 years our focus as a stroke recovery group has remained the same:
  • Provide support and encouragement
  • Provide education about stroke and stroke recovery
  • Provide education about community-related issues
  • Provide recreation post-stroke
  • Provide socialization for community re-entry

If Troy Schools close due to bad weather, our in-person meeting will also be canceled, but we will attempt to Zoom the meeting.

Meeting/Event Details

Educational programs and recreational activities occasionally impact the date and location of our meetings, so calling for more information is recommended.

There is no cost to attend our meetings.
